A bit better but not perfect.
We should now say t.t.f.n I hope you will join us on our new blog Total Renovation, it will tell the story of the 1930's house we are renovating the progress, problems and a few snaps and quips as we go, watch this blog for the links.

My blogger tells me it was th 19th of March since I up dated you on the Dreamcatchers, what's my excuse, well lots of covert plans have been hatched between us this year, many of you now know that we have been planning to retire from Linedance teaching. We had planned to withdraw with dignity by October, but events have overtaken us and we have now handed the venues over to two local promoters who will carry on the events and the workshops.
Linedance teachers are like hens teeth rare, and we are pleased that the past 10 years or so of work will not fade out and that the venues we have built up over these year will still be providing you with fun nights out.
Were not leaving because we have lost interest in linedancing, but the chance to move back to Judith's home town of Kidderminster, downsize our housing and pocket some spare cash was too good to pass up. Sounds too good to be true, well it does have it's problems, the house a 1930's semi needs total renovation, and to cap it all we managed to get a buyer for our house in the first two weeks it went on the market, and only one other person in the chain a first time buyer, so we have been busy geeing up builders to get the house habitable by the end of July.
So our farewell party had to be brought forward to June, it proved to be the best evening yet thanks to American Spirit who kept us dancing all night and the energy of the dancers who gave us the best send off ever. The wall clock we were presented with, no flannel, was something we have always wanted and I have a spot in my minds eye where it spot in the new house picked out for it. We thought you might like to see the snaps we took on the evening if I missed you out please forgive me.

Dances
Feel The Magic by Gary Lafferty to Hungry Eves by Eric Carmen
Nice Intermediate dance, with music to die for. The count in the middle is tricky at first, but not impossible. This is proving very popular and we found it a pleasure to teach
Chery Poppin by Neville Fitzgerald & Julie Harris to Candyman by Christina Aguilera
Some of the class enjoyed the challenge of this dance, We enjoyed the challenge of teaching it, but We feel it will have a limited appeal and be one of those dances that does not stay the test of time, shame because it is fun.
Ashes Of Love by Gary Lafferty to Ashes Of Love by Kentucky Headhunters.
Another good intermediate dance by Gary, its easy with an interesting combination of steps that flow to the music. We love the rock beat from the Headhunters, we bought the CD Flying Under The Radar Album for this track and loved every track.
A Knockdown by Geri Morrison to Knockdown by Alesha
We were asked to teach this dance, when We were preparing to teach Knockdown by Maggie G.
I think it made little difference to us because the music did not appeal to us.
Another that will be lost in a short time, its a shame because the dance has it own appeal, if only it had an alternative track, perhaps we will experiment with other tracks and let you know.

Dance Review
Wednesday 28th February our first midweek event with Bobby D Sawyer, was a sell out and the crowd was not disappointed. Bobby was a true Nashville country artist with the charm and manners to match. The vocals and the choice of music was spot on for listeners and dances and the evening was brought to an end with Bobby walking and singing his way around the hall, thanking people for attending and the welcome he had received. If you have not yet had the pleasure of seeing Bobby perform make that on of the things to do before you die you wont be disappointed.

2)Dances for 2007
January
1.Ringo 32 count 4 wall Beginner/Intermediate by John Wilson to Your'e Sixteen by Ringo Star.
We used this as a gentle start to the year, but it wasn't popular. If you like easy dances to old tracks this could be for you, but this did not flow with the music and failed to keep us interested.

2. Heart of an Angel by William Brown to Heart of an Angel by Modern Talking.
Nice easy waltz, nice track with a very easy tag. This dance is sure to hit the top ten. If you liked Midnight Waltz you will love this too.

3. Solo Humano by Debbie Ellis To Solo soy un ser humano by David Cirera ( album Perdoname)
Catchy latin beat even with the re-start, some dancers are missing this out, not good to this track, with the re-start it hits smack on the beat. We love this one, but with 3/4 turns and 1/2 turns if you find turns diffuclut this may not be for you.

4) Cherry Poppin Intermediate dance by Neville Fitzgerald & Julie Harris to Candyman by Christina Aguilera
A chalenging dance the even count and the speed is not for the faint hearted.
This is taking some time to master, but it is fun and woth the effort. This dance makes me pleased I only teach up to Intermediate level. We like easy dances with the occasional challenge. This fits that bill.

5)Dark Secrets by Tina Argle to Drink in Dark Whiskey by Gary Allen.
Easy Intermediate 32 count 4 wall dance.
An old country tune, thank you, we like to do a mix of country and pop, but struggle to find countr dances we like, so we are grateful for this dance.

6)Wrap Around by Caz Robinson to Wrap Around by Steve Holy Beginners/Intermediate.
This dance is easy and goes well to this track, we tried it to Who Would'nt wanna be me, it was not as good, and we prefer to keep this track for the dance of the same name. We really like this dance and the music I hope it makes the charts it should.

Watch this space for our next batch of dances, I cant believe we have already had a go at 6 dances.
